Prayer at the beginning of the day Preparation Holy God who made the heavens and the earth the stars and the moon, as your sun rises in the sky, may your light rest on me. Holy God who made the heavens and the earth and all the life that teams on the surface of this planet, as your sun rises in the sky, may your blessing rest upon me. Holy God who made the heavens and the earth as your sun rises in the sky, may your Spirit fill me sustain and challenge me, guide and protect me, this new day as in all the days of my life so far. Amen. Opening song of praise: 1 May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face to shine upon us, 2 that your way may be known upon earth, your saving power among all nations. 3 Let the peoples praise you, O God; let all the peoples praise you. 4 Let the nations be glad and sing for joy, for you judge the peoples with equity and guide the nations upon earth. 5 Let the peoples praise you, O God; let all the peoples praise you. 6 The earth has yielded its increase; God, our God, has blessed us. 7 May God continue to bless us; let all the ends of the earth revere him. Psalm 67: 1-7 Scripture: Deuteronomy 4. 39-40 So acknowledge today and take to heart that the LORD is God in heaven above and on the earth beneath; there is no other. The two were running together, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first. He bent down to look in and saw the linen wrappings lying there, but he did not go in. Then Simon Peter came, following him, and went into the tomb. He saw the linen wrappings lying there, and the cloth that had been on Jesus’ head, not lying with the linen wrappings but rolled up in a place by itself. Then the other disciple, who reached the tomb first, also went in, and he saw and believed; for as yet they did not understand the scripture, that he must rise from the dead. As our Saviour has taught us so we pray: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen. May the living God, creating, redeeming, sustaining Bless us all, now and for always. Amen.
